Bio
Dr. Kathleen Padilla is an Assistant Professor in the School of Criminal Justice & Criminology at Texas State University, where her work bridges rigorous research and passionate teaching. With a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from New Mexico State University and advanced degrees—a Master’s and Ph.D. from Arizona State University—she has dedicated her career to exploring critical issues in law enforcement.
Her research centers on police officer mental health, gender equity in policing, and innovative qualitative methodologies. Through her work, Dr. Padilla strives to create healthier, more equitable working environments in law enforcement and to inspire future generations of criminal justice professionals. As a proud Latina scholar, she brings a unique perspective to her field, actively engaging in discussions both in academic circles and on social media.
